King Night
Sometimes at soldout we write about SALEM (or Salem, or S4LEM). Remember when we asked them if they were going to do a full-length?
Well, the album is King Night. It finally sees the official release of soldout fave "Trapdoor". And it has a song called "Release Da Boar" on it. All of these things point to "fuck yes". Def Jam? More like DEATH JAM, amirite?
This is what it looks like, cover-art wise:
SALEM: Trapdoor
"And on the third day, Jack "NUHH"'d again, in fulfillment of the scriptures." The King Night cover has no death-bears, no mutilation, no creepy bedroom scenes, and yet the SALEM aesthetic remains firmly intact. We imagine this is what the cover art conversation between the band, who do all their own imagery themselves, was like via email:
Heather: This makes me think of
Jack: What this image makes Heather think of is Juke.
John: What color should I dye my hair?
Jack: And wearing them heels but not them clothes.
::Heather has unsubscribed from listserv team SALEM with the following message: I SAID LIKE THE COVER OF RUMOURS::
King Night is out via IAMSOUND on Sept 28
