The Bloodsugars turned in an epic, sweaty performance to make even Prince jealous last night at the soldout launch party at Santos in NYC. Revisit them taking over our own Liz Raftery's living room as they perform "Pedestrian Boogie" (the song you white girls know as the "clap song") for our Apartment Stories.
The Bloodsugars, whom we here at Soldout adore and who are headlining our showcase at Santos Party House this Wednesday, have been busy in recent weeks. Most notably, they filmed a double video for the songs "I Want it Back" and "Falling Makes You Blue," off of their 2009 album "I Can't Go On, I'll Go On." This teaser from the band indicates that they spared no expense on these short films, which seem like they'll tread into bizarro territory in an exploration of corporate culture.
Look for the final cut of the videos in early October, and if you're in NYC, catch The Bloodsugars live at Santos this week!
If you're still on the fence about coming out on a Wednesday to rock, check out our Apartment Story session with headliners The Bloodsugars.
Picture that, but louder. And with drinks. And preceded by equally stellar music from Ludlow Lions, BMLINX, and The Ropes. And with some deejaying by Ben Breier and Richy.
Because we're feeling nice, we're offering one lucky person a pair of tickets to the party. Just e-mail your full name, age, and why we should give you tickets to info@soldoutmusic.com. Bonus points for witticisms and pictures of pugs.
When we named The Bloodsugars as our favorite new band of 2009, it was on two merits: the strong tunes that make up their debut album and their impressively energetic live show.
Those same two merits, plus the fact that they've pretty much earned the status of "band we force anyone with a half-mile radius to listen to" here at soldout, also netted them a prime slot at our soldoutmusic launch part at Santos Party House in NY on Feb 10.
To celebrate the upcoming launch, we recently crammed the guys of The Bloodsugars into soldout Liz's apartment for a soldout Aparment Story session-1 flipcam, 1 song stripped to its bare essentials, no redoes or editing.
