But it's all right right now

Francis and the Lights, the NYC band about to release their eagerly-awaited It'll Be Better album on Cantora Records , just let loose this one-camera video for "Darling, It's Alright". It doesn't seem like much at first, but...wait.

What's up with the resurgence of truly great music video performances lately? The hyper-tense, coiled-spring Francis exploding in the spotlights fits the song's classic 80's pop perfection--it triggers a remembrance, a sense of deja vu that you've been through "Darling, It's Alright" before.  The song and video find kindred spirits-Simple Minds, sure, or even some Don Henley-and celebrates them, while remolding the anxious jerk-funk of No Wave.

The entire album is streaming below-it's intoxicatingly catchy at first pass, let's see how it holds.
