Weekly: Bright Lights

I just don't know what to say. So much time has passed since I first fell in love with Placebo... when I daydreamed over the etheral buildup of songs like Follow The Cops Back Home... rocked out to drum heavy tracks like Taste In Men... and drooled over videos like Special Needs.

Oh, Placebo. Where did your glamrock androgynous fantasticness go?

Sure, things had to change a little when Steve Hewitt left the band, but you gotta admit, he wasn't exactly the androgynous fantasticness of the trio. For starters, his name was STEVE. You could replace him and still maintain everything that was sexy on the Sleeping With Ghosts and Meds albums. Right?

OR.

You could replace him with some homosexual version of the dude from Crazy Town (or as Russ calls him, "Dudebro Mc Beefystix".)

On the plus side, Stefan has great hair in this new video. It's a little Carlos D. Maybe that's why you named this song after Interpol's best album?

did anyone else notice that the "bright lights and black holes" lyric that stefan sings in the video is so not on the album version?

Ha, I didn't notice that! And "kinda sucks" is being nice, I think.
