Weekly: The Electricity in Your House

My friend Teddy, from Italy, turned me on to electronic artist I am Robot and Proud, from Canada, who recently toured with The Constantines, who I saw live in Atlanta with The Selmanaires, whose drummer is also in Snowden, whose singer is moving to Brooklyn next week.

So I don't really know what that all means, but I think if you play this at 11:52pm on a Tuesday in a first floor apartment on a numbered street while facing West, the space/time continuum will most likely implode.

One fall morning as I was zig-zagging through Soho's cobblestone side streets, the breeze picked up my scarf, blew through my hair, and my favorite School of Seven Bells song started playing on my iPod.

Before I could help it, I was walking in time to the beat, flowers blooming at my each passing step. Rainbow riding unicorns passed overhead, dropping shiny glitter on the baby kittens at my ankles. With each lyric I sang, passing strangers stuck their fingers in their ears, because yes, I was one of those crazy people who sing along to songs no one else can hear.

Try it for yourself. At the very least, you'll subconsciously walk in time to the beat.
