Kids of 88 + Lady Gaga = everything we've ever wanted ever

Back when Russ and I saw Kids of 88 at pianos (with Cassette Kids and K. Flay opening--killer show) I said something to the effect of, "This is the last time we'll see these kids up close. Next time they come to New York they'll be at MSG opening for Gaga or The National or something"

    Born This Way

Sure, "Born This Way"'s taking hell for sound like "Express Yourself". It sounds like "Like A Prayer" (that cathartic clapping fall-away at the end) and "Waterfalls" (so much else), too, and so what? What "Born This Way" does right is everything that 90's dance-pop did: and that was be fun, mindless, brilliant, celebrate celebration. "Don't be a fag/just be a queen" may very well be the smartest lyric in recent pop history, but you'll be too sweaty jumping along to this live, when it comes right before "Bad Romance" which will come right before the lights come on, to give a shit.
