Sunday Morning Music: The Watson Twins cover "Just Like Heaven"

This is the first of a new Sunday Morning Music feature meant to highlight the music that you want to put on when you wake up at the end of a long week. You want something soft, something soothing, something that you can listen to with your sweetie. (Oh, don't groan. I'm a big softie, not afraid to admit it, and fergawdsakes, it's Valentine's Day.)

The Watson Twins have been struggling to find themselves ever since the wide exposure they got when working with Jenny Lewis on her first solo album, Rabbit Fur Coat. I wasn't impressed with their own full-length debut, but their new album (just released on Feb. 9th), Talking to You, Talking to Me finds them in much better form. The whole record definitely goes into Sunday rotation.

In lieu of a video from the recent release--there aren't any yet--enjoy this performance from Homer's Record's in Omaha. The Twins cover the Cure classic "Just Like Heaven," stripped-down and soaring.
